One of the things many patients will want to know when they decide to engage the services of a Costa Rica plastic surgery is whether certain procedures will be covered by insurance. It is a general rule that reconstructive plastic surgery and restorative plastic surgery are both covered by insurance. For example, if a patient loses a significant amount of weight and is interested in an abdominoplasty (otherwise known as a tummy tuck), that procedure would often be covered for health reasons. On the other hand, if a person elected to have surgery for purely aesthetic reasons, that procedure might not be covered by insurance.
